July Book Give-Aways

In keeping with our summer theme, Raising Responsible Kids, we’ve got two more books we’re giving away this month and both of them are filled with inspiration to help your kids make a positive difference in the world.  The Kid’s Guide to Social Action by Barbara Lewis has won awards from Parenting Magazine (Outstanding Children’s book, Reading-Magic Awards) and the American Library Association (Best of the Best for Children).

The book includes resources, instructions and forms as well as real stories about real kids who are helping solve real problems in their neighborhood, community and nation.   It’s sure to inspire your kids to take action.

And if you’re looking for ideas to connect your kids with community service projects, The Kid’s Guide to Service Projects will fit the bill. Filled with over 500 service project ideas, step-by-step instructions for creating flyers, petitions, and press releases, the book covers important facts and statistics on topics ranging from literacy to the environment.

Special Thanks to the author, Barbara Lewis for providing these books for our give-away.  We want to hear from families who are already participating in community projects—and kids who are making a difference.  We want you to share what it means to volunteer and make a difference in the world.
