How to Sync Bookmarks With Xmarks

By Jonathan Wylie

These days, it is increasingly likely that you use more than one computer to get through your daily routines. For instance, you may have a computer at work, a desktop at home, and a laptop for portability. You might also be forced to use different browsers on different machines. All this switching between computers quickly creates the problem of how to keep track of all your favorite links and bookmarks.

Well, fear not, for Xmarks is here to help. Xmarks is a browser plugin that allows you to keep all your bookmarks up to date on whatever computer you use. It works with Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer and Safari, and even between Macs and PCs.

How does it work? First, you need to install it on the browsers of all the computers you use. Once installed, Xmarks will back up all your bookmarks to the cloud and store them in your online account. Every time you add a new bookmark, it will be added to your Xmarks profile. Every time you change computers, Xmarks will sync the bookmarks to that new computer so that you have all the links you need at home, at work, or on the go.

Installing Xmarks is quick and painless. Simply go to the Xmarks download page, and click on the download link for your browser. Once it’s installed, you will be prompted to create an Xmarks account to save your bookmarks to.

Repeat this process for all the computers you use, but don’t create a new account every time. Simply use the login details you generated the first time you used Xmarks, login to your account when prompted, and all your favorite bookmarks will appear on your browser in a matter of seconds.

Xmarks will also add a site rating system to your Google searches so that you can see the most popular sites around before you even visit them. It even has site information built into the browser, and with the click of a button you can find a selection of similar sites to the one you are currently on.

So, if you are struggling with the inconvenience of using the Internet on multiple computers, make life easier for yourself and try Xmarks today. You’ll be glad you did.
